Dallas Express has: Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton urged Collin County commissioners on Wednesday to block further development of the proposed EPIC City housing project. Paxton sent a letter to the Collin County Commissioners Court calling for rejection of a plat application submitted on December 23, 2025, for “The Meadow Phase 1.” The action follows a lawsuit by his office seeking to invalidate the project’s land annexation, which Paxton described as approved by an “unlawfully constituted” board of the Double R Municipal Utility District No. 2A to evade state oversight. Separate state litigation accuses developers of securities fraud, including misleading investors, failing to verify accredited-investor status, and diverting a “significant amount” of funds for personal use. Court documents cited in the letter claim promotional materials implied the site would be “unlawfully reserved for Muslims specifically” and described it as the “epicenter of Islam in North America.”
